Man Jailed For Insulting Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, On Social Media

A Katsina Chief Magistrate's Court today sentenced one Gambo Saeed to nine months detainment for annoying and criticizing the character of Katsina state representative, Aminu Masari, via web-based networking media.

At the becoming aware of the body of evidence against Saeed today, the Police Prosecutor, Inspector Isa Liti told the court that Saeed was charged after dissensions got from the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Radio Monitoring, Mansur Ali Mashi

"Mashi said the denounced individual manhandled Masari and called him names via web-based networking media. He said the denounced individual posted on the media that it was Gov. Masari who impacted the indictment of Speaker of Katsina State House of Assembly, Aliyu Muduru.''

As indicated by Liti, Saeed was captured and charged for deliberate affront, criticism of the representative's character and actuating aggravation.

The accuses were in understanding of areas 399, 392 and 114 of the Penal Code. Saeed confessed to the charges.

Boss Magistrate Abdu Ladan, found the denounced liable and sentenced him to 9 months detainment without an alternative of fine.
