Man Beheads 72-Year-Old Woman In Ogun Over Land Dispute (Photo)

A 23-year-old man, Adeoye Ikugbayigbe, has been captured by the Ogun State Police Command for supposedly decapitating a 72year-old-lady, Funmilayo Shada, taking after a contention over land.

Ikugbayigbe was captured after the deceased's child Ekundayo Shada announced the matter to the Abigi Divisional Headquarters Monday.

As per Ogun Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Ekundayo was en route to meet his mom at their homestead when he saw Ikugbayigbe out and about holding a polythene pack.

Oyeyemi stated: "When Ikugbayigbe located him, he dropped the sack and kept running into the bush. This stirred Ekundayo's doubt and he rapidly raced to check his mom however couldn't discover her. He later returned to check the sack dropped by the presume just for him to find his mom's severed head and her wrist in the said pack.

"He immediately announced the case to the police and the DPO Abigi Division, SP Komolafe Omoniyi drove criminologist to the scene, brushed the encompassing shrubbery lastly got the presume captured.

"On cross examination, he admitted to the commission of the wrongdoing asserting that he has been having a running fight with the expired over a bit of land. The severed head and the remaining parts of the perished have been stored in the mortuary while the cutlass he utilized has likewise been recovered".

"The Commissioner of Police (CP) Ahmed Iliyasu has requested that the suspect be exchanged to Homicide area of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligent Department (SCIID) for further examination."
